Mrs. Hedgpeth, Speech-Language Pathologist

Mrs. Hedgpeth

Hi, I'm Christie Hedgpeth,  the speech-language pathologist at Sweet Springs R-VII.  This is my twelfth year working in this school district.  I currently serve approximately 30 students with speech and language impairments in grades preschool through 12th grade.

I live in rural Sweet Springs with my husband and three wonderful children, ages ten, six and one.  I grew up in rural Houstonia and attended Pettis County R-V High School.  I then attended Central Missouri State University where I received a bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and master's degree in Speech Pathology.  While attending high school and during a portion of my college years I enjoyed baby-sitting and working at McDonalds.  Then I worked for several years at Piggly Wiggly.  As part of my training, I student taught at an elementary school in Sedalia and completed an internship at Boone Hospital in Columbia.  My favorite previous place of employment was a daycare that I worked at for numerous years prior to having my own children.  I have always enjoyed working with children and am glad I have the opportunity to continue working with so many exceptional students.
